Entrepreneur of Impact 2026 - Day 8, Round 1: Paying It Forward & Competition Update

Today was a reminder of how much of this journey has come from other people taking the time to help.

I had the chance to speak to a group of high school students in an entrepreneurship program at my local high school, Cary Grove. I went in planning to talk about the NULU story—the mistakes, what worked, whatever might actually be useful to them. But what stayed with me wasn't what I said. It was listening to them. They were thoughtful, prepared, and serious about what they were building. It's easy to forget how much potential is right in front of us until you see it that clearly.

It reinforced something I keep coming back to. We didn't get here on our own. People gave us time, perspective, and opportunities—sometimes when they had no obligation to. If we're not doing the same when we get the chance, we're missing the point. For us, this is part of the work, not something extra.

On the competition front, things are starting to settle at the top. We're still sitting in second, this round closes April 2nd, and the top 20 move on. We're in a good spot, but the daily vote is what keeps us there.

If you've been voting, thank you—please keep going. If you're thinking about putting money behind it, I'd ask you to hold off. We're running this as a full campaign, and that kind of support will matter more if we make it into the later rounds.

More tomorrow—and as always, I appreciate everyone following along.
