The Ability Curve

What Adaptive Design Taught Me About Individual Ability and Organizational Performance

Human capability isn't fixed. It shifts with age, injury, fatigue, and context. Most organizations are making critical decisions about their people based on the assumption that it is.

Building products for people operating outside that assumption changed how I see everything.

FRAMEWORK

Ability moves. The systems we build, the roles we design, and the expectations we set usually don't account for that.

When you start planning for human variability instead of assuming stability, performance decisions get sharper. Deployment gets smarter. Retention improves.

The Ability Curve is a framework for understanding how capability actually shifts — and what that means for how organizations operate.

OFFERINGS

Most leadership training focuses on optimizing peak performance. The Ability Curve focuses on something more useful — understanding the full range of human capability and building systems that perform across it.

I work with organizations through two engagement types:

Keynote — A high-impact session introducing the Ability Curve model, its organizational applications, and immediate takeaways for leaders. Available in 60 and 90-minute formats.

Workshop — A deeper working session for leadership teams. We apply the framework directly to your organization's structure, workforce, and performance challenges.
